‘Being’ Grounded demystified

Posted on 13th February, by admin in Talia's Blog.

‘Being’ Grounded

In a practical sense what does it mean to be grounded?

Many of us can relate to being told to ground as part of self-care or meditation practice. I practice grounding many times during my day, especially when holding space for others, and supporting clients with being grounded is an integral component in all my sessions and workshops.

Why is grounding important? How do we take it from a concept to an embodied tool? ‘Being’ grounded suggests it’s very nature. Grounding enables us to attain & sustain our ‘Being – ness‘.

It can be done with a thought, an intention, or more mindfully as part of a deeper process or practice.

Why do we ground?

We are electrical beings. We have a frequency and charge, and our nervous system is an electrical system. Electricity needs to ground to discharge.   Grounding, therefore, enables … Read More

Intuitive Heart Wisdom for 2018

Posted on 12th January, by admin in Talia's Blog.

The energy arising at the beginning of this year is about timeline duality.  Two different choices, each seeming very real, which one will you choose?

Each are energetically very ‘real’  choices.  One is a very old story.  As such the palpable nature of it is magnetic.  It draws you in with such a strength that often you are in it before you realise.  Awareness, and choosing not to be drawn in can be likened to holding on by the fingernails with the force at which it pulls you.  This is also a clue to  to whatever it is that is pulling you in is perhaps not in serving your highest vibration .

Of the two timelines initially this one may seem the most charged, or carry the strongest energy.  Part of the challenge is to ‘see’ it and choose differently, or … Read More

Plant Based Recipes

Posted on 10th January, by admin in Talia's Blog.

Like any change, adapting to a plant based eating style requires imagination, and preparation.  This will help to avoid those moments where offspring open the fridge and say, “there’s nothing to eat”! Which of course would initially appear true upon opening the fridge to …..plants, and lots of them!

With one of my daughters choosing to follow a vegan eating plan, it has been my creative challenge to take plants to the plate, providing a variety of meals that are balanced and tasty each time. Despite the initial extra time in food prep I’ve enjoyed getting back to basics and as the very wise Michael Pollen said “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants”.  So i thought I’d share one of our favourite recipes at the moment.  This batch makes 3 pizzas so you can freeze what you don’t eat for next time.

Alter your body language…and your life!

Posted on 10th September, by admin in Talia's Blog.

How we carry ourselves can send direct messages to our body about how we feel.

Did you know it’s possible simply by altering your body position to influence hormones such as cortisol in as little as 2 minutes?

Have you noticed how you feel stretching after sitting at the computer for a while? Or Have you tried smiling when you are sad and found it has made you feel a little better?  In Craniosacral therapy this can be observed and expressed by ‘how our psychology feeds into our physiology and vice versa’.   For example, if we clench our jaw and tighten our shoulders we can activate the vagus nerve, stimulating the flight fight response.  Conversely if we experience a threatening situation and as a result the vagus nerve is activated, it can in turn lead to the body language … Read More

Being Present in this crazy world – the Physical & Spiritual ‘How’ and ‘Why’

Posted on 25th March, by admin in Talia's Blog.

Life is increasingly sped up in this crazy, busy world.  In every moment there is the opportunity to fit ‘just one more’ thing in. There always seems to be more to do.  I find this in my own life, especially now as I add teenage Uber driver to my CV.  So how is being present going to help, and why?

Firstly let me differentiate, being present doesn’t necessarily mean making a clean swipe of life’s tasks and abandoning all else to sit and ‘om’ in a corner.  Although I’m sure that may work for some!

Being present simply means being in the moment, whatever activity you find yourself undertaking.

Are you driving the car, hanging washing or completing that assignment with your mind already many steps ahead of you, thinking about the other million tasks you may have to do?   … Read More

How to weather intense emotions

You are not your emotions- How to separate the ‘you’ from ‘your experience’

Interesting fact for you – we operate from the subconscious mind over 90% of the time.  This means our thoughts and emotions often ‘happen to us’ or ‘influence us’ to act or feel a certain way, without us really knowing why, or without much awareness/consciousness in our behaviour.  This can lead to feeling dissatisfied with life  and often feeling ‘victim’ to it.

Without looking at or into our beliefs,  our behaviour patterns and our sub conscious influences, it can be an enormous & lengthy challenge to create or sustain any change.  This can be frustrating.  It also can lead us to ‘identify’ with our emotions or experiences, seeing them as part of ourselves and in doing this we ‘forget’ our true nature.

We become what we feel.

Ramen for a Rainy Day

Ramen for a Rainy Day

A cold rainy winter conjures up cozy thoughts:  ugg boots, an open fire, sharing endless cups of tea with friends and family, and of course warm nourishing foods.

These last few weeks I’ve been staving off the cold by cooking my way through soup made from just about every vegetable.  We are part of an organic buying coop so basically I was making soups using whatever came in our latest delivery.  In just one week I had made and sampled; green soup, cauliflower tofu and mushroom soup, potato and leek, and tomato basil and capsicum soup.

When a virus visited our family I needed a food as medicine soup…and this is what came of that thought…Ramen!  It was so easy, quick, and popular which means it’s been on our weekly dinner rotation since.  Enjoy!

Compassion v Responsibility. A sensitive soul’s guide.

Posted on 29th March, by admin in Talia's Blog.

As a sensitive soul it is possible to feel everything.

The emotions of those around you, the mood and feeling of a room when you walk in, all that is said and unsaid is a palpable.  It is easy then to feel extreme compassion for others. To feel their pain and to try to help others, to want to help them.

There’s a fine line between helping others and doing it for them. Often we can take on not only peoples emotions but their physical pains and illnesses. Especially if we have the ability to transmute energy or process pain into light.

The previous path of the lightworker was to transmute for people for the planet for ourselves.  It’s not that this was wrong, it is instead that this has changed.  As people are awakening rapidly they are remembering … Read More

If you had one super power what would it be?

Posted on 14th September, by admin in Talia's Blog.

We have this discussion a lot in our house.  If you had one super power what would it be? Our girls generally ask this question and then it’s a hot and lively debate about what you’d choose and why.  Each of us emphatically explaining and then championing our choice.  Time travel seems to be the consistent Super Power winner, although I’ve gotta say the rules and permutations around this are often not agreed upon!  Should you have this super power and be allowed to change things? Or just observe?  Could it be used for  material gain?  Or simply to learn without impacting your current world?  Could we distort time?  Make it go slower, pause it or speed it up?  All great considerations don’t you think?

So how does this relate to what’s happening in our world and energy at the … Read More

What on Earth is happening right now?!

Posted on 30th March, by admin in Talia's Blog.

Who here feels like they’ve been holding on by their fingernails lately??

Big stuff has been happening in the world around us, or maybe even just in our own orbit. It may have felt like things could collide or all fall apart in an instant. You may have felt like you’ve needed to batten down the hatches in the storm, and hibernate to minimize the impact.  For those into astrology read: super moon; a TOTAL eclipse; and if that wasn’t enough, all closely followed by the equinox.

So what does this all mean?

Simply put, it’s a time where we can access higher parts of ourselves, and higher dimensions. It’s an awesome time to become who we really are, to merge with our soul selves and create in our life according to what we are really here to do.

But in order to do … Read More
